Mutsa Madzivire
I am a fourth-year major in New Media Studies. Research is one of my strongest attributes; I am motivated by the need to analyze the impacts and causes of phenomena. I am a strong communicator, as I am confident in my research and my beliefs on any topic I speak about.
I am interested in social responsibility and how it interacts with consumer behaviour. In today’s marketing landscape, people are more likely to support brands that reflect their personal values, and I am no exception. I believe that marketing is no longer just about selling products, but about creating a brand with which consumers trust and align their values.
My goal is to integrate my interest in various social issues into meaningful initiatives that benefit the community and business goals simultaneously. My Media Studies courses taught me how social media functions as both an opportunity and a challenge for brands. Social media makes it easier to engage with a more widespread and diverse audience, but also demands transparency.
In my career, I plan to work towards driving marketing efforts that intentionally align profitability with purpose, so that brands take real action to make a difference.
